Jewish Quaker, activist, rebel, great-great-grandfather. Dad’s Coffin takes a joyful look at one unique man’s stroll towards the inevitable.
In development with ESPY Films
Dad’s Coffin begins with 91-year-old John Lynes decorating the modest cardboard box he’ll be cremated in and will end when John’s family scatters his ashes in a Yorkshire cemetery one day in the future.
But this isn’t a film about death. It’s about the importance of living a joyful and principled life, told through the prism of an elderly rebel and his patchwork family who are determined to enjoy the time they have together.
